Saturday May 2nd was Free Comic Book Day and i will have to say i have never experienced a Free Comic Book Day as exciting as Free Comic Book Day at 4-Color Fantasies in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. During years previous i was lucky if i was able to even remember the day Free Comic Book Day fell on let alone get to a comic book store to get free comics. This year though was entirely different, one i am creative director and graphic novelist for High Tower Comics, inc., two High Tower Comics was invited to man a booth at an all day event that encompassed half a parking lot, a entire comic book store and all put on by the great folks over at 4-Color Fantasies. To say they went all out would be an understatement, there was a Wolverine impersonator, a giant sentinal head and hands, multiple small press booths including yours truly, professional artists, a jumper for the kiddies, our friends from Forbidden Panel, and free food....oh yeah and free comics galore! So if you were unable to attend this year please keep an eye out for next year. To all those who did attend i want to say thank-you. It was completely awesome chatting with everyone, signing comics, posters and meeting so many local fans. I can't began to tell you how cool it was for me and Jacob to see all the people walking around mingling with our free comics and posters in their hands. And to the fellas at 4-Color Fantasies; a big thank you for your support and invitation, stores like yours our what help give me hope for the future of comics!
